Planned
Work |
|
|
7.5 |
Currently planned work
includes clearing and planting the corner at the top of Bull Hill and
possibly fencing the area of the burial ground which has become a dumping
ground for local resident’s garden refuse (though it is not clear who owns
this land). Likely date for work on the burial ground (and churchyard) is 25th
February. A skip will be provided. |

Generally agreed to be
an excellent evening though notable that relatively few of the audience were
Horton Kirby residents. |

|
Disappointing turnout;
two tables pulled out (for good reasons) at the last minute. Agreed that the
event was slightly under-priced. Agreed to hold event again, suggested date
is April 2008. Agreed that it should be held on a Friday. Tickets should be
sold in advance, drinks will be sold at the event and it should include other
fund raising elements such as stand up bingo. |

Churchyard
and Burial Ground |
|
|
|
The churchyard and
burial ground is looking better than at any time in recent memory. The
committee thanked all those involved in achieving this. Work is almost complete
on the burial ground fencing adjacent to Glebe Place. The agreed VS
contribution to the funding for this will be required shortly. Work on the churchyard
compost heap will start in the spring. The VS intends to
continue funding grass cutting in the churchyard. A summary of cost versus
income is needed for discussion at next meeting. |
