David Crowhurst had received a letter from Mr &
Mrs Reynolds, addressed to the Village Society, concerning the sale of land at
Rays Hill. They had erroneously accused the Society of acting without
consulting those most affected. The Chairman emphasised that the Village
Society, while obviously concerned about the possible sale, was not involved in
efforts to acquire the land from the current owner. The Committee acknowledged
that had Mr & Mrs Reynolds taken the time to carefully read the minutes of
the Parish Council meeting, that they referred to in their letter, that it
should have been obvious. Those minutes had clearly and unambiguously referred
to a “group of interested people from the village” approaching the parish
Council.
It was agreed that the Vice Chairman would write to Mr & Mrs Reynolds advising them that the Village Society was not involved.
