ROADWAY

There was discussion on which of 2 quotations received for making the entrance roadway should be accepted as they were of similar price but slightly different specification.

RESOLVED that

the quotation from JPS, for 12 inch deep compacted road planings topped with compacted 20 mm stone, be accepted;

JPS be asked to create a 12 feet wide roadway with 3 feet wide cleared pathway on each side; and

JPS be asked to quote for removal of the old chain link and concrete post fence at the same time.

BARRIER AT ENTRANCE NEAR 100 YEAR WOOD

Members gave consideration to what should be done at this location to replace the demolished barrier.  The committee was informed that Kent County Council public rights of way have offered cash and had suggested that substantial posts should be installed.

Members felt that a chicane barrier similar to what was there before was preferable.  They were told that a mother who makes 4 trips a day on this path with a child’s buggy had asked that any replacement barrier should not be as narrow as the present one which made life really difficult.

RESOLVED that a site meeting be held on Saturday 28 January at 10 am.

The meeting ended at 8.30 pm.
