Council to Introduce New-style Rubbish Sack

Keep a lookout for new black rubbish sacks.  Early this year, SDC will introduce a new, sturdier sack for your regular rubbish.  Similar in design to the clear recycling sacks delivered to all District households, the new black sack will be harder to puncture and have four 'rabbit-ears' to tie the sack securely shut.

Properly tied, the sacks will be less likely to burst at the sides or open at the top.  This will result in even less contamination during the now district-wide collection of black and recycling sacks together in one vehicle, further supporting residents' efforts to recycle more from home.  Residents now receive both black sacks and recycling sacks every 20 weeks.

Montgomery Road Rubbish
Some people have asked us to request that certain residents of Montgomery Road stop putting out their rubbish on the pavement anytime from Friday onwards. Large items must either be taken to Pedham Place dump or collection arranged by ringing 01959 567 358.   All normal rubbish and recycling sacks should only be put out on the appropriate day.

BONFIRES

Bonfires are a really bad way to get rid of waste as they pollute the atmosphere for everyone but especially those living nearby.  Please think twice before lighting up so that others can enjoy their gardens.
