BURNT OUT CARS

Cars driven over Westminster Field, dumped and burnt out over the Christmas period have caused 100s of pounds worth of damage not to mention great inconvenience to those trying to use the footpath.  The £250 just to get them taken away was just a small part of the cost.  A replacement
entrance gate is needed on the bridge as well as a new barrier near the
entrance to 100 Year Wood.  Kent County Council's public rights of way
officers have been keen to help protect the path and are hoping to help install fencing at the top of the path at the A225 to stop this happening again.

WORKS TO THE VIADUCT

These works are due to be with us for at least another 6 months.  Luckily we have good relations with the company who have co-operated in all
requests to help residents.  We all remember the early days when the staff were parking along Horton Road and causing chaos in the morning rush hour.  Thanks to beat officer Geordie Laidlow having a quick word with them the workforce immediately found somewhere else to park nearby.

CLERICAL ASSISTANT POSITION

The Parish Council will be looking for an assistant to the parish clerk to work from 9.30 to 11.30 each weekday morning in the village hall office. The exact duties are still to be finalised and salary will depend on ability and experience. If you are interested in receiving further details please
contact Carol in the office (865193).
