PARISH COUNCIL BUDGET

The Parish Council has set its Budget for 2006/7.  A reduction of 2.6% in the amount households are being asked to pay has been achieved by
taking cash from reserves to pay for the Heathside development. Over £36,000 will come from reserves in the current financial year and £12,750 will be spent from reserves next year.
The
Parish element of  a Band D Council Tax will be £62.65.

PARISH COUNCIL YEAR END AUDITOR

An auditor is required to carry out end of year checks during April/May. This will preferably need to be a qualified accountant who will sign off the accounts. If you can help, please contact the Parish Office.

VILLAGE HALL EXTENSION

The Parish Council has been awarded a lottery grant of £5000 to carry out a feasibility study on a possible extension to the Village Hall. The hall currently has no space during the week for any new local clubs to meet and it is felt that when the Paper Mill site is developed with many new
residents there will be a need for more meeting space and services.

A consultation will take place in the near future. In the meantime if anyone knows of existing groups looking for premises or has ideas for setting up new clubs or activities please contact Carol in the Parish office.

HORTON KIRBY CONSERVATION AREA

The boundary of the Conservation Area is currently being revised by Sevenoaks District Council. Part of Westminster Field, the burial grounds, fields in the centre of the village, as well as houses in Lombard Street have been added. Comments are requested by 6th February.
