Text Box: Affordable Housing for Rent and Shared Ownership

The following information will be helpful for all interested in the 42
affordable housing units to be built on the Paper Mill site.
14 will be available to rent with West Kent Housing administering.
Applicants must be on the Sevenoaks District Housing Register. Local villagers will not get priority as this is not only for those in the parish.
Allocation is points-based and depends on need. So, whilst technically it does not matter how long an applicant has been on the list, if you had the same needs points as someone else, having been on the list for longer would give priority. It is therefore suggested that parishioners waiting for these units get on the list as soon as possible.
28 will be shared ownership properties for first time buyers administered by Moat Housing. Some will be for key workers, and whilst the homes are not exclusively for residents of the parish, Moat will try to give priority to local people when it comes to allocations.

PROPOSED COMMUNITY FACILITIES
Many of you will have read in the local papers the great news that £297,558.60 has been approved for community facilities as a result of Fairview New Homes being given planning permission for 210 new dwellings on the paper mill site. The money has been allocated for improvements to Heathside and play equipment within half a mile of the mill site but the bulk of the money is likely to be spent on an extension to the village hall.

A feasibility study will be carried out soon by independent consultants (which will be paid for by a Lottery Fund grant secured last year). If you know of an activity which needs accommodation not currently available in the villages please let the parish office staff know.
Text Box: Village Hall Recycling Site
Please adhere to the request to keep this area clear. Even leaving a vehicle in the area unattended for a few seconds can cause problems. On occasions the clearance vehicles have seen the area inaccessible and driven away. It could be several days before they return to us.
If you leave material intended for recycling next to full containers it does not get recycled. It is taken by the general litter clearance staff.
