Text Box: 8 Bells for St Mary’s The fund raising for 2 more bells at St Mary’s is going very well. In the letter that every household in the Parish should have received, we said that we had already got donors for the cost of each bell. We have since received another large donation and several smaller ones, all of which we are very grateful for - so much so that we are nearly in a position to place the order for the bells with the Whitechapel Foundry. We would like to thank Horton Kirby School for adopting the bells as their Christmas Charity and raising an amazing £328.57! All our young ringers attended the school and we are very keen to encourage more to come and learn. To date we have raised about three quarters of the money we need. We want to improve our sound control system to make it easier to use and possibly more effective. This is our next big fund raising event. If you have never heard this band you should definitely come along. They play anything from folk to Dire Straits and everything in between. They also throw in some circle dances which they will call. So if you like a bit of ‘Disco’, Barn dancing or just to listen to a good, live band you should be there! Food included but bring your own drinks.
