Riseley Hall Entrance Walls and Gates
This entrance was erected without permission and a requirement to reduce the height to 1 metre was upheld by a planning inspector last December. The appropriate work had to be done by 16 April 2003. Unless the walls and gates are reduced in height by 5 June, SDC will commence legal proceedings. The reason that planning permission was not given for the gates as built is that "the appearance of the walls and the ornate gates have an unacceptable impact on the rural setting by introducing an incongruous urban element into an otherwise unspoilt country lane."
