Text Box: Fairview New Homes Ltd who are redeveloping the Horton Kirby
Paper Mill site are currently looking for a marketing name for the logo and branding of the residential development. Top of the list is to use a specific date, and it would be most appropriate to use the date that the mill first opened. However, despite doing lots of internet research, nobody seems very precise - only that it was built during the 1820s. Can anyone help them on this point?
They would also like to invite a local resident who was employed at the
paper mill to write a short testimonial to be included in the marketing brochure. Please contact Fiona Ficetola of Fairview New Homes on 020 8366 1271 or email marketing@fnhltd.co.uk

Text Box: Proposed Village Hall Extension

Preliminary discussions have been held with an architect to see what sort of layout can be achieved for our proposed extension which the Parish Council feels will be needed when the houses on the Paper Mill site are occupied. The 500 or so new villagers will need accommodation for various additional community activities and parish councillors have been looking at the possibilities that can be provided by the nearly £300,000 to be given by the developer. First thoughts are that we need a second large room (between ½ to 2/3 the size of the existing hall) plus one or two smaller meeting rooms. Storage is also top of the agenda! The extension will be on Green Belt land so every sq metre of space must be justified. For this reason community consultations have been carried out but the Parish Council is keen to continue to hear from any people or groups who have ideas or aspirations for setting up new societies or ventures. Please let the parish office know if you would love to start a keep fit class, a chess club, a karate group, a bridge club, table tennis or after school club or anything similar (or completely different!) if there was a room available. If you have an idea for a new club but don’t know what the local take up might be, let us know and we can help advertise for potential members in the next newsletter. On the subject of room availability, owing to the sad demise of the Over 60s Social Club, Tuesday afternoons, 1 – 3.30 are now available. Contact Jean on 01322 865193 if you would like to be considered for this slot.
