Text Box: RIVERSIDE PRE-SCHOOL Mrs C Reynolds 07968 019759 It has been an exceptional year for Riverside Pre-school Kindergarten. We have completed our 5 modules for our “Quality Mark” which has been put forward to an awarding panel. This hard work has been achieved by the staff of the Pre-school who have given their time at home completing many standards, answering questions and making recommendations to improve our practice. A special thank you must go to Mrs Day who has compiled 4 of our huge portfolios and kept everything going during the last 2 years. We also have some new staff who are currently working on their NVQs and have introduced a uniform for the children and staff and have had very good support from all our parents. The children are very proud of their yellow sweat shirts. We also celebrate the 40th birthday of the Pre-school that was registered in May, 1967. Looking back on past waiting list books I have calculated that there must have been at least in excess of 4,000 children who have passed through the doors of Riverside school. Many children who have attended or are now attending are children whose parents came to Riverside. It seems a long time from the early days at the Legion Hall when my son Ian with 7 other children were the first children in the group. So many changes have occurred over the years, not always for the best. It has been a long journey from those early years to fulfilling all the Governments legislation requirements that have been put upon us. The most important thing is the happiness of all the children. Our setting has always provided a warm welcoming environment for every child, and a range of stimulating equipment with excellent reports from Ofsted. It has given me so much pleasure during my work at Riverside to see so many happy children and over the years so much support and appreciation from so many parents. My loft is full of letters and cards I have saved to look back on when my days at Riverside are over. I would like to thank all parents who have supported us over the years through some difficult times but many many happy years. Thank you Celia Reynolds / Proprietor
