Mon. 11th June, at 8.00pm This is an additional meeting as a result of Ed Salter, the KCC’s Exploring Kent’s Past Project Officer, offering to give us a talk on ‘Recent Archaeological Discoveries in Our Area’, for which he charges no fee.
Mon. 9th July, at 8pm Jean Stirk is going to give us a talk on
‘The History of Paper-making in Darent Valley’.
We were hoping to produce a booklet on the Roman Granary in Westminster Field but the excavator, Brian Philp, has refused us permission to print any of his photos or diagrams. However we are working an a book on the Railway in this area, particularly Farningham Road Station. This we hope to have printed in June.
Text Box: Text Box: Horton Kirby Football Club

“Horton Kirby FC had a middle of the road season” reports club spokesman Derek Chambers, “a good start and ending to the season that was not helped by a bad run in mid season.” However a good run in several cups made the season quite interesting. The club is always looking for young talented players for its Gravesend League premier division team (home ground: Westminster Field). Anybody interested should phone Jason on 07841687657 or Derek on 07967050798
