river, which currently runs through a culvert, and make this a feature with road and foot bridges and a riverside walk for everyone to enjoy.

Road access is expected to be through the existing entrance to the left of the mill cottage and a number of traffic calming proposals are being considered for Horton Road to accommodate the anticipated increase in traffic that new homes will inevitably generate. Pedestrian and cycle access is expected to connect the site with Devon Road or Millstone Close. The developers are keen to make the site 'permeable' and avoid the sort of closed community within a community that has been experienced with some other brown field site developments.

There is still a long way to go before a detailed scheme can be submitted to Sevenoaks Planning Department. Before this however, Fairview intends to present the story so far to residents of the Parish at a public exhibition in March. They will gather comments and try to incorporate as many local views and opinions as possible into the final submission to the planning
department in the summer.
