Sevenoaks Care and Repair Scheme
Sevenoaks Care & Repair has charitable aims and is a not-for-profit making organisation. We offer advice and assistance to vulnerable homeowners who are older or disabled and who wish to repair, improve or adapt their homes.
We will guide you through the entire process of making decisions, organising finance and overseeing the building work and other technical matters. We strive to give a high quality of service.
We can give a wide range of advice including the financial options available to you to undertake the work. We will explain the grant system and ensure that you are clearly aware if you might be entitled to a grant to repair, improve or adapt your home. We will discuss your needs and offer you clear advice. We will assist in deciding the best course of action and help you with any form filling.
We help you identify the building work needed and select an appropriate contractor. We will prepare specifications of work if required, obtain estimates and can help you complete grant applications, if this is appropriate. We will monitor building work in progress to ensure good standards are maintained.
There is no charge for advice. However if you proceed and have work done then the Agency will charge a fee for their services. If the work is grant funded by Sevenoaks District Council then normally our fees are met by the Council within the grant. If you have privately funded work then there is a charge of 11% on the cost of the pre-V.A.T. building costs.
