	HORTON KIRBY VILLAGE SOCIETY Anita Cockrill 865021 Don't miss the annual Barn Dance with Skinners Rats on 10 October at 8pm. Tickets are £8 each and include a hot supper. See Pete Flewin (864054) or any committee member for tickets. Sadly, the Court Lodge Barn won't be available to us this year so the village hall has been pressed into service. Those attending the Horton Kirby Village Society's half yearly meeting on 31 October at 7.15 will have an extra special treat. An hour long piece of professional theatre called "Sixteen Types of Happiness" follows the business meeting. Prizes will be presented to the winners of the Garden Competition. Stay afterwards to have a chat with fellow villagers and have something to eat (provided). Tickets available from Carol Allart (865193) Bring your own drinks. Village walks are proving popular . The next is on Sunday 12 October meeting at 11.15 in Westminster Field car park for an autumnal stroll through Farningham Woods. Our evening of Carols at The Fighting Cocks will take place on 21 December. Non Horton Kirby people very welcome. Our usual band has been booked, the words will be provided so you just need to be in good voice.


	Works of Art Ben Dawes 862443 I would like to thank everyone who took part in creating a work of art to be sold to help raise money for a children's party. The standard was exceptionally high. For those of you who can't wait to buy one of these pictures, and therefore help the village children, you may be disappointed to hear that as we only have 6 works, the sale will be delayed for a while! Can I please encourage you all to have a go. No one is going to laugh at your effort. We are all busy, but it only takes a short while to make a child smile! Deadline is now 31st December. Thank you, in anticipation.


	FRIDGE--Are you getting rid of a fridge in clean condition and good working order? The village hall would like a second fridge for weddings and big parties.
