RECYCLING
Lots of people put out cardboard boxes separately from their black sacks and recycling sacks. Please note that this cardboard will not get recycled unless you fold it up and put it into the clear sack. It's worth taking a bit of extra time to do this to know that it won't be sent to landfill. Bigger boxes can be brought to the module that's at the back of the recycling centre at the village hall. This is so well used that Biffa are now emptying it weekly instead of fortnightly.
The clothes module is well used too. Please help the Salvation Army collector by always putting the clothes in carrier bags that are well tied up.
Unfortunately our kerbside recycling record in this parish is officially "poor". That is easy to believe when you see how few clear sacks are put out in some roads on rubbish day. If you don't separate your waste at the moment can we try and encourage you to do so? Try first with plastic bottles (toiletries and drinks), drinks cans, junk mail and other "clean" items. It's very easy once you get into the habit! Two clear sacks can be picked up from the parish office free.
Compost Bin offer is still on. Ring 0870 844 3001 for a home composter delivered to your door for only £10!
