Continuing our story from last Newsletter …

Our Bring and Buy went well, with our brave volunteers (all right, those who didn’t step back quickly enough) making our donated clothes look far better than they ever did on us. In June, our Tiller Girl didn’t turn up – rehearsals, even for ex-Tillers take precedence, - but we were delighted by our last-minute stand-in – a wonderful poetess who read her own – and others’ – pieces so, well, poetically. Let’s quickly gloss over our July speaker, for whom we are still apologising to the largest number of visitors and prospective members we’ve ever had at a meeting!! Whose Law was that?

Thankfully, those visitors came back for more in August and weren’t disappointed. What a great evening of food, music, singing, dancing, more food, more singing - thanks to local lad made good, Adrian Chapman. Catch him somewhere if you can. Terrific evening.

We’re now looking forward to hearing about the life of a Lady Cruise Director, and Chocolate-making (re-scheduled from last October’s cancellation; we, unfortunately, don’t have chocolate making every year).

That’s W.I. for you. Come and see. Third Thursday every month, 7.30 p.m. at the Village Hall, except December, Christmas party night on the second Thursday.
