Text Box: Victim Support North Kent & Medway is looking for volunteers who are understanding and good listeners and who can get on with people of all ages, cultures and backgrounds. Anyone can apply. No previous experience of this kind of work is necessary.

Victims often need:
·	Someone to talk to in confidence
·	Information on police and court procedures
·	Reassurance and emotional support when attending court
·	Help with compensation claims
·	Contact with other local organisations

Prospective volunteers are invited to contact us for an informal discussion on what it means to volunteer for the service. An application form is then completed and an Enhanced Criminal Records check and references are followed up.
The volunteer basic training is a six-day course. Further training is offered to volunteers once they have gained some experience. Serious crime training is offered in Domestic Violence, Sexual violence and Supporting People Bereaved by Homicide. Throughout the year there is a rolling programme of short workshops, these include Homophobic and Ethnic Minority Crime awareness, Bogus Callers,
Drug Awareness, Adult Protection and Bullying.
If you think you can help Victim Support please contact us now.
