HORTON KIRBY AND SOUTH DARENTH CONSERVATION AREAS
Revised consultation drafts have been received and comments are
requested by 20 February.
The additions to the South Darenth Area are:
The river and riverbank by The Bridges;
The Lower Paddock and land east of Giffords and north of Giffords
Court; and
The north side of Holmesdale Hill from Victory Terrace to Roman Villa
Road.
The additions to Horton Kirby are:
Tranby Croft;
Russell Terrace;
Westminster Field;
The Parish Council burial ground; and
The church burial ground.
Discussion
Members looked at the proposals and suggested the inclusion of
Northfield Cottages and 1 & 2 Lombard Street, as they are buildings of
character.
Clr Burchmore sent a written note explaining that the Conservation
Areas are a separate issue to the Design Statement and only supplement the
Design Statement’s planning guidelines according to Mike Higgins, Sevenoaks
District Council’s Conservation Officer.
Because of the 6 week gap between the January and February meetings, we
thought we should pay staff 2 weeks at this meeting. There are also some outstanding bills which just missed the last
meeting which should be paid.
RESOLVED that the schedule of accounts, as submitted, be approved and
payments made accordingly.
Cllr Payne reported that still nothing had been done to replace the
missing bollard outside the post office.
Clr Bradley asked whether any progress had been made on the installation
of the bollards by Westminster Field and said that they should not wait until 1
April to be erected.
There was concern that work currentlt being done to make a hard
standing needed planning permission.
There was discussion on this Sevenoaks District Council-owned land
which is to be auctioned on 20 February and Members wondered what it might be
bought for. It was suggested that TPOs
might be put on some of the larger trees.
The meeting ended at 8 pm
